Heathrow Hilton (Day Room)

Day 3  Nairobi-Lake Naivasha | Meals: BLD
As you are eating breakfast this morning, don't be surprised if some of the manor's most famous residents stick their head in the window to say hello. Although hard to say goodbye, today's drive takes you to the Rift Valley and the shores of Lake Naivasha. Nestled under the shade of acacia trees, Loldia House was built more than a century ago by settlers from South Africa. Your home for the next three nights, Loldia House provides all of the amenities of a luxury property while retaining a home-like feel.
Giraffe Manor

Day 4  Lake Naivasha | Meals: BLD
Two full days give you an opportunity to game drive in the nearby park or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Loldia House

At Loldia House you?ll experience the life of Kenya?s early settlers, the pioneers who cleared the forests and first farmed the rich highlands.

Loldia ranch was established by a family who trekked by ox-wagon from South Africa a century ago. Today their descendants still own the land. The original farmhouse is managed for visitors by Governors? Camps. It?s an ideal spot to relax, taste the pleasures of Kenyan country life and explore the Great Rift Valley.

Loldia House, built in the Second World War, nestles under ancient Acacia trees. Lush lawns run down to the shores of Lake Naivasha, the Great Rift Valley?s highest and purest lake. Indigenous plants and flowers fill the gardens.

There are beautiful views of the dormant volcano, Mount Longonot. Wild animals roam free on the farm. Small antelope wander through the gardens. In the evenings hippo munch quietly by the waterside.

We?ve kept the original character of the house: comfy chairs surround a huge fireplace; paintings by an artist who lives on the farm hang on the walls; a deep and shady veranda to relax on and sunbeds in the garden.

In the main house there?s a choice of four en-suite double rooms, with original furniture. And three more rooms in the specially-built Loldia cottage which has it?s own sitting-room, fire and panoramic lake-views.

Mouth-watering meals, with fish and shrimp from the lake, are served under the trees or in the old dining room. Britain?s Country Life Magazine even described Loldia?s manager as "probably the best butler in the world".

Two full days in the Mara are filled with game viewing activities. This is big cat country and chances are excellent to view lion, cheetah and perhaps even leopard.

Governors Il Moran Camp

The camp for those who want that extra bit of luxury.

Newly refurbished in 2018, Il Moran Camp is hidden in the cool shade of the riverine forest that follows the bends of the Mara River. Each tent enjoys a private location from which to enjoy the beautiful and serene setting. Hippos wallow in the river waters below, elephants wander through camp, and the night time is punctuated by hyena whoops and lion calls.

Each canvassed room is expansive and newly furnished to a superior standard. Beautiful old wood furniture and muted natural tones are a natural extension of the environment around. Each stylish bathroom boasts a Victorian style bath and his & her vanities. A large verandah is designed for relaxing in comfort in the peaceful surroundings.

Day 10  Mfangano Island Camp | Meals: BLD
Spend the day enjoying the surroundings - relax and be as lazy as you like.

Mfangano Island Camp

Lapped by the waters of Lake Victoria, shaded by giant fig trees, and lost to the world, Mfangano Island Camp is an oasis of tranquillity, an ideal retreat from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

The island has just one road and no other hotels to disturb the peace.

The only way to reach Mfangano Island is by light aircraft, an adventure in itself. You land on a dusty airstrip, then it?s a short ride by speedboat to the camp.

Your first view is of beautiful gardens set on a secluded bay. Lawns hug the waterline, flowerbeds and rock gardens surround the camp. Enormous boulders sit at the water?s edge, a perch for cormorants or giant monitor lizards to sun themselves.

All the buildings are in the local Luo tribal style, walls of smoothed mud and clay, rooves of thatch and banana leaf - cool and airy. The dining room and lounge are fanned by breezes from the lake.

There are just six rooms. Each set close to the waters edge, decorated with local handicrafts. Bathrooms with modern fittings are finished in local stone. At night the sound of waves will lull you to sleep.

If all you desire is to laze in the sunshine, each room has it?s own private veranda with sunbeds. Or there are plenty of activities to keep you occupied.

The food?s as fresh as can be, fished from the lake (hopefully by you!) or picked fresh from the island?s vegetable gardens and orchards.

    Day 12  Lake Victoria-Nairobi-Depart | Meals: BLD
All good things must come to an end. Your private charter flight takes you back to the Masai Mara where you continue on the flight to Nairobi. Day rooms are available for you to freshen up and have dinner before departure on the overnight flight to London.
