Day 1 - 3 Nairobi-Lewa Downs | Meals: LD
A morning light aircraft flight takes you from Nairobi to the Lewa Downs Conservancy. A camp vehicle will meet you at the airstrip and transfer you to the camp for lunch. During your 3 night stay, you'll have an opportunity to see conservation and wildlife management at its best. Later, enjoy a game viewing activity
Lewa Downs Conservancy was originally a cattle ranch until the owners of the land set aside 5,000 acres to protect and breed rhinos, whose numbers had dropped precipitously to just 300 in the 1970's. The project was so successful, that by 1995, the Craig family decided to dedicate their entire ranch to the conservation of wildlife.
Lewa Safari Camp, with its lush green lawns, a large pool and tented accommodation, provides visitors with an insight to conservation and wildlife management at its best. Although under the not for profit umbrella, the Safari Camp spares no comforts on the home front. A visit to Lewa provides extraordinary game viewing, comfort, and many varied activities, and also a chance to witness and participate in a successfully working conservation program.
The camp can sleep 26 guests and comprises nine twin rooms, one double and two family/triple tents, all with en suite bathrooms hot and cold running water and flush toilets. Lewas a total success story and guests have an almost exclusive access to an area teeming with a variety of exciting wildlife.

Day 4 Lewa-Samburu National Reserve | Meals: BLD
After breakfast, transfer back to the airstrip for the flight to Samburu. Samburu is home to several species rarely found in other parts of Kenya. Look for the Grevy's zebra, which has thinner and more vertical stripes. Also look for the "giraffe-necked" gerenuk. This graceful member of the antelope family is a picky eater, preferring the succulent leaves at the top of tree branches. Fortunately, it can stand on its hind legs for long periods of time in order to reach those perfect leaves!
Joy's Camp is built on the site of Joy Adamson's tented home in Shaba National Reserve. The site was also home to Penny the leopard, the heroine of her last book.
The 10 chic canvas bedrooms are set raised off the ground with breathtaking views of the surrounding hills. The camp overlooks a large natural spring where elephant and lion jostle for watering rights with herds of buffalo and the rare desert species of Beisa Oryx, Reticulated Giraffe and Grevy's Zebra.
Each sumptuous tent is uniquely decorated with Boran/Somali cloth design, handmade glass and the vibrant fabrics of the local nomadic tribes creating a chic, sophisticated and stylish camp. Each tent has its own private verandah, ideal for private game viewing as well as relaxing, reading and soaking up the truly wild environs offered by Shaba. The eastern corner of the Samburu eco-system, Shaba is a secluded idyll; an arid landscape dotted with lush springs and rocky river gorges.

Day 6 Samburu-Masai Mara | Meals: BLD
After an early morning game drive, a light aircraft flight takes you to Kenya's most famous reserve, the Masai Mara. Camp vehicles greet you at the airstrip and you game drive back to your camp.
The Maasai Mara defies description: undoubtedly the spectacular migration of Wildebeest and Zebra searching for lush grazing following the rains, stalked by the omnipresent predators, is one of the world's greatest wildlife marvels. But the migration is by no means the only feature - this fascinating eco-system is home to enormous herds of plains game, the Big Cats and Elephant as well as colourful birds, small game, riverine wildlife and stunning scenery.
Elephant Pepper Camp is located in the middle of this 3600 sq km wilderness. It is situated within the protected Koiyaki wilderness area, away from other lodges. In order to preserve this special area our camp is seasonal and is completely dismantled for three months of the year. Our spacious canvas tents, with an en suite dressing room, flush loos and safari showers are comfortably furnished. Nothing rivals sitting around the campfire enjoying the sounds of the African night. Extended game drives each day and some night game drives make game viewing a complete experience. Elephant Pepper Camp brings people back to nature, no generator, no traffic, no permanent structures obstructing your view, just the sights and sounds of the African bush.
The main dining/bar mess tent offers family style dining with a help-yourself bar.
The staff are friendly and welcoming: arriving in camp is like coming home. The appetising food is prepared by chefs trained by the owners' family using traditional North Italian recipes mixed with international and local favourites. A barbecue by the campfire, dinner in the mess tent, or a bush breakfast on the open plains are some of the lasting memories to take home.
Award: Recipient of Bronze award, Eco Society of Kenya (ESOK).
Activities: Game Drives In 4-Wheel Drive Vehicles
Night Game Drives
Guided Bush Walks
Bush Meals
Sundowners
Drinks Policy: Drinks including soft drinks, House wines and spirits are included in the room rate. Champagne, special wines and luxury spirits are additional.

Day 7 & 8 Masai Mara | Meals: BLD
Have your checklist ready for the next 2 days of game viewing, as the plains of the Mara are usually dotted with game as far as the eye can see. Grant's and Thompson's gazelle, Maasai giraffe, waterbuck, wildebeest and Burchell's zebra are all plentiful in the Mara. Thanks to the constant food source, the Mara is also host to the predators like lion, leopard and cheetah - along with spotted hyena and side-striped jackal. The nearby Tana River is host to several hippo pools where you can usually find dozens of eyes peeking up from the water.
