Comprising of 30 Plantation Houses - inclusive of 12 Plantation Suites - that radiate out into the evergreen coffee fields, Arusha Coffee Lodge has been designed around the original landowner's home that dates back to the early 1900's.

The theme of coffee is never far away at Arusha Coffee Lodge, and this is never more evident than in the Plantation Suites where the theme coffee bean permeates even the interior designs of both the main bedroom as well as the beautifully appointed en-suite bathroom.

The homely feel of the Lodge is by no means accidental as the origins of the homestead continue to emit glimpses of times-gone-by. The friendly and personable staff help create an ambiance that continues to draw appreciation from all those who visit and stay.

Overnight: Tarangire Treetops Photo & details
Tarangire Treetops
Many a childhood would have been spent playing in the world of 'make-believe'. Within this imaginary existence many of us will have climbed and played high up in the bows and branches and, for the lucky few, built a 'palace' in the sky.

It is this nostalgic sparkle that is all too visible in the eyes of the 'grown-ups' who gaze upon Tarangire Treetops for the first time. Tarangire Treetops sits serenely on the border of the Tarangire National Park - Tanzania.

As you arrive at the Lodge, you are immediately greeted by a blaze of color and a host of smiles all of which belong to the local Maasai tribesmen who have become part of the enchanting story that is Tarangire Treetops.

Centered about a Main Lodge - which itself encases a thousand year-old baobab tree - Tarangire Treetops comprises of 20 rooms all of which are elevated above the ground affording views over the tops of surrounding marula and baobab trees.

Each Treetops Room boasts one of the largest bedrooms to be found in any camp or lodge in East Africa - with a floor space of 65 square meters - and all with an exotic double shower en suite bathroom. With furnishings that create warmth and demonstrate a commitment to local craftsmanship, the 'up-in-the-air' experience is completed by the open-fronted room design affording views across the Tarangire plains from an expansive but private balcony.

Dining at Treetops sustains the momentum of undeniably memorable moments. Whether enjoying a lantern-lit dinner in a traditional Boma echoing to the sounds of Maasai chants, or eating poolside by candlelight whilst a wealth of wildlife comes to drink at the Lodge water hole, Treetops creates memories by the minute and in so many differing ways.

However it is the pure delight and sheer pleasure of Tarangire Treetops that will remain with you for years to come, and will keep you returning, if only in spirit, to this delightfully dreamlike lodge.
3 Day 3: TARANGIRE
Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives today. Tarangire National Park is just about 1,000 square miles and much of the landscape is dotted with enormous baobab trees. Thanks to the Tarangire River which runs through the park, Tarangire is a haven for wildlife. Listen for the distinctive "whoop" of the spotted hyena. Elephants are found in high numbers. Predators are also in the park, including lion and leopard.

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the park today.

The Serengeti is famous for the big cats. Thanks to the large food supply provided by the plains game, the big cats are also found in large numbers. Cheetahs love the kopjes as they provide excellent vantage points for spotting prey. If you are lucky you might spot the fringe-eared oryx or the shy klipspringer. Watch the rocks for the rock hyrax...the closest relative to the elephant! Bird lovers will be busy checking off species from their list. Look for the Ruppell's longtailed starling, Griffon vulture, kori bustard, ostrich and the colorful lilac-breasted roller - to name just a few.
