Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Delhi
Arrive in Delhi early this morning. After time to freshen up, head out on a tour of Old Delhi. Your tour takes you to the magnificent Red Fort, - a marvel in red sandstone, built on the banks of River Yamuna by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. and Raj Ghat, a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi.

Day 2: Delhi
This morning, tour the highlights of New Delhi including the 12th century Qutab Minar, gracefully hand-carved for its entire height of 234ft, and the iron pillar, which has withstood the ravages of time and not rusted even after 1500 years.

Day 3: Delhi-Jaipur
This morning, depart Delhi by road for Jaipur, arriving later this afternoon. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 4: Jaipur
Your morning begins at the Amber Fort - with an elephant ride! In the style of the Maharjahs of the past, your elephant will take you all the way up to the fort entrance. Amber is a classic, romantic Rajasthani fort Palace. The rugged, time-ravaged walls of the Fort may not look beautiful from the outside, but the interior is a virtual paradise. Later visit the Jantar Mantar, the largest stone and marble observatory in the world.

Day 5: Jaipur-Agra
Your drive takes you to Fatehpur Sikri this morning. Fatehpur Sikri was built by Emperor Akber in 1569 and abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water. Continue on to Agra, arriving late this afternoon.

Day 6: Agra
Today's visit might be considered a highlight as you behold the world famous Taj Mahal. Built by Shah Jahan in 1630 to enshrine the remains of his beloved wife Queen Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj Mahal is a perfectly proportioned masterpiece that took 20,000 workers 17 years to build.

Day 7: Agra-Khajuraho
This morning, board the Shatabdi Express for a 2-hour ride to Jhansi. From here, continue by road to Khajuraho.

Day 8: Khajuraho-Varanasi
This morning, visit the Eastern Group of Temples including the Vamana Temple dedicated to the "Vamana" or dwarf incarnation of Lord Vishnu and the Javari Temple. Then transfer to the airport for the short flight to Varanasi.

Day 9: Varanasi-Delhi
Start the day with an early boat cruise on the River Ganges. Then continue to Samath, the fabled place where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon to his disciples. Take the short flight back to Delhi. Day rooms are available for freshening up before your early morning departure tomorrow.

Day 10: Depart Delhi
Depart for the United States or perhaps stop in Dubai on the way home.
Day 11: Agra-Khajuraho
This morning, board the Shatabdi Express for a 2-hour ride to Jhansi. From here, continue by road to Khajuraho. You?ll stop at Orchha, a medieval city built in the 17th century. Remarkably, many of the buildings remain today.
Arrive in Khajuraho late this afternoon.

Day 12: Khajuraho-Varanasi
This morning, visit the Eastern Group of Temples including the Vamana Temple dedicated to the "Vamana" or dwarf incarnation of Lord Vishnu and the Javari Temple. There are also three Jain Temples with beautiful carvings and non-erotic sculptures. Although these are Jain Temples, they also contain numerous Vaishnav deities. Then transfer to the airport for the short flight to Varanasi.

Day 13: Varanasi-Delhi
our morning begins early with a boat cruise on the River Ganges. At dawn, the Ghats are buzz with activity of the devotees performing their ablutions in the river or offering prayers to the rising sun and performing other religious rituals. Then continue to Sarnath, the fabled place where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon to his disciples, expounding the principles of Buddhism. Transfer to the airport for the short flight back to Delhi. Day rooms are available for freshening up before your early morning departure tomorrow. Or, why not take an optional extension to Kathmandu?

Day 14: Delhi-New York
An early morning flight takes you back to Dubai, where you connect to the New York bound flight, arriving later today.
