Day-by-Day Itinerary

1 Day 1: Arrive Delhi
Arrive in Delhi early this morning where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The day is at leisure to relax and refresh from the journey.
2 Day 2: Delhi
A full day of touring shows you both New and Old Delhi. You'll visit the Qutab Minar and see the Red Fort, a marvel in red sandstone.

3 Day 3: Delhi-Nagpur-Kanha National Park
Fly to Nagpur and then drive to Kanha. The lush bamboo forests of Kanha National Park were an inspiration for Rudyard Kipling's famous novel, "Jungle Book".

4 Day 4: Kanha National Park
This morning, visit Kanha National Park, established in 1955. Filled with forests of deciduous hardwood, bamboo and flowering trees, it is a haven for wildlife and among the species you might see are Chital, Chausinga (a 4-horned antelope), Sambar, and, of course, the regal Bengal tiger. The park is most noted for the barasingha (swamp deer), which faced extinction 20 years ago.

5 Day 5: Kanha-Bandhavgarh
A drive takes you to Bandhavgarh, a former hunting ground of the royal family. It was established as a wildlife sanctuary in 1968 and is believed to have the highest tiger population in India.

6 Day 6: Bandhavgarh
The steep cliffs and dense Sal and bamboo forests make this ideal terrain for tigers. Bird-watchers be on the lookout for the paradise bird fly-catcher, malabar piedorbill and the orange-headed ground thrush.

7 Day 7: Bandhavgarh-Khajuraho
A morning drive takes you to Khajuraho, where the remainder of the day is at leisure.

8 Day 8: Khajuraho
Khajuraho is known more for its erotic sculptures and among the temples you'll visit is the Kandariya Mahadeo Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The afternoon is at leisure.

9 Day 9: Khajuraho-Jhansi-Agra
After a leisurely morning, drive to the Jhansi railway station where you board the train for Agra. It's about a 3-hour train ride to Agra, where you will arrive this evening.

10 Day 10: Agra-Delhi
This morning, visit the world famous Taj Mahal built by Shah Jahan in 1560 in memory of his queen Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains. Later, visit Fatehpur Sikri built by Emperor Akbar in 1569. He used the city as his capital but a scarcity of water resulted in the abandonment of the city after just 14 years. Then transfer to the railway station for the short ride to Delhi.

11 Day 11: Delhi-Depart
Transfer to the airport today for your departure flight.

12 Day 12: Agra-Delhi

A morning tour of the city shows you the bustling gold and spice souks. This evening, enjoy a relaxing dinner cruise as you sail along Dubai Creek.

Bid farewell this morning as you depart on Emirates’ flight back to New York, arriving mid-afternoon.
