Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Nairobi
Arrive in Nairobi today where you will be transferred to your hotel. The night is free for you to relax and rest after your trans-Atlantic flights.
Overnight: Emara Ole Sereni
Day 2: Nairobi
It's a moving start to the day as you visit the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and learn about the care of the orphaned elephants. The Sanctuary is run by Angela Sheldrick and is set in the grounds of her late mother's, Dame Daphne Sheldrick's, house. During your visit, you have the chance to view the orphaned wildlife and meet the people who handle and care for them. Then continue to the Giraffe Center for a fun and educational encounter with the exquisite Rothschild giraffes. When the center was founded in 1979, only 120 of the Rothschild giraffe remained in Kenya - and they were on the verge of losing their "home" to a subdivision of property. Through careful breeding and reintroduction to the parks, there are about 300 Rothschild giraffes in Kenya today. In fact, you might see them again when you visit Lake Nakuru, one of the four parks in Kenya chosen to have a relocated herd.
Overnight: Emara Ole Sereni
Meals: Breakfast
Day 3: Nairobi-Samburu
Leave Nairobi and travel by road, crossing the equator, arriving in Samburu National Park this afternoon. Spend the next two nights at the luxury Elephant Bedroom Camp, set on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River.
Samburu's small size (about 117 square miles) makes wildlife spotting easier. In addition, you will find species rarely found in other areas of Kenya. They include the reticulated giraffe and the beautiful, fuzzy-eared Grevy's zebra. Also found here are elephant, several species of the smaller gazelle, buffalo, cheetah, leopard, dik-dik, and wart hog.
Overnight: Elephant Bedroom Camp
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 4: Samburu
Among the large variety of birdlife you might spot on your game drives today are ostrich, vultures, African hawk eagle, pale-chanting goshawk, martial eagle, vulturine guineafowl, buffcrested bustard, as well as a wide variety of starlings, wavers and waxbills.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru/Congreve Conservancy
Leaving Samburu behind, you'll travel south through Isiolo, crossing the northernmost foothills of Mount Kenya, until you get to the town of Nanyuki. Here you'll head west to Nyahururu, still known to many as Thomson's falls for its 237‑foot cascade. Now travel in a southerly direction to Lake Nakuru, arriving at the camp in time for lunch. After lunch, enjoy an escorted walk on the grounds of the camp.
Overnight: Mbweha Camp
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 6: Lake Nakuru
After breakfast depart with a picnic lunch for a full day game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, returning to the camp as the sunsets.

Day 7: Lake Nakuru-Masai Mara
Your drive takes you into the world-famous Masai Mara today and your luxury camp, set on the banks of the Talek River. Game viewing in the Mara is amazing. You will almost certainly see the Big Five here - can you name them? (They are lion, buffalo, elephant, leopard and rhino.) Did you know that the name "Big Five" is not based on the size of the animals, but rather goes back to the early hunting days, when these five animals were the most prized for hunters?
Overnight: Tipilikwani Mara Camp
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 8 & 9: Masai Mara
Huge gatherings of plains game like zebra and impala are likely to dot the landscape as you explore on daily morning and afternoon game drives. The keen eyes of your driver-guide will constantly amaze you as he points out a lilac breasted roller in the tree, or a lion taking a nap in the shade of a tree. Your binoculars will come in handy as you focus on searching the horizon for a lion or leopard on the prowl; or following a cheetah as she hones in on her prey. Game viewing in the Masai Mara is always exciting! Enjoy two days here in the Mara.

Day 10: Masai Mara-Nairobi-Depart
