Day 1 Depart USA
Depart on your overnight flight to London. (Note: Depending on flight schedules, passengers west of the Mississippi may have to depart one day earlier.)
Day 2 Arrive Nairobi
Arrive in London early this morning where you connect to the Nairobi-bound flight. Jambo and welcome to Kenya! You will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Day 3 Nairobi
Enjoy a leisurely morning and lunch at the hotel before traveling to the suburbs of Karen to visit the Karen Blixen Museum. The former home of this famous author of 9 books (including "Out of Africa") is set at the foot of the Ngong Hills and still holds some of her original possessions. A short drive takes you to the Giraffe Center where an elevated platform puts you at eye-level with the graceful Rothschild giraffes. Later this evening, enjoy sample all different types of meat at the Carnivore Restaurant.
Day 4 Nairobi-Lake Manyara | Meals: BLD
Drive to Arusha today where you stop for lunch before continuing on to Lake Manyara. The lake lies in a depressed valley with the brown and red cliffs of the escarpment rising strikingly on one side.
It is difficult to imagine a more spectacular setting for Lake Manyara Serena Lodge - on the edge of the Mto Wa Mbu escarpment, overlooking the Great Rift Valley and the stunning Manyara soda lake. Tree-climbing lions are but one lure. The extraordinary birdlife has made this place world-renowned among ornithologists, who come to observe the masses of pink flamingos and great birds of prey.
The abundant birdlife inspired the design of Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge - swooping curves are complemented by soft, geometric patterns; stylish murals depict bird migration patterns. The circular shape of the buildings is a tribute to indigenous architectural traditions. Beyond the superb standards of hospitality offered, there is a spirit of tranquility that prevails.

Day 5 Lake Manyara-Serengeti | Meals: BLD
After breakfast, spend the morning on a game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. Thanks to the wide variety of habitats found inside the park, game is plentiful. Be on the lookout for the graceful impala, the mischievous baboon and much more. About midday continue to the Mto Wa Mbu Village for lunch and an afternoon of exploration of the village. You'll have time to meet some of the local tribes people and visit a school or a church. Return to the lodge for lunch and then drive across the hilly countryside of Ngorongoro as you continue to the Serengeti. The name Serengeti is derived from the Maasai word "siringet", which means endless plains. Appropriately named, every year the Serengeti plays host to perhaps the most impressive migration of herbivores found in the world. Game-viewing is exciting year-round, as the Big Cats are in abundance.
Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge is set high on a hill with breathtaking vistas of sweeping grasslands and the unspoiled wilderness landscape of the Serengeti plains. Big game feed in full view of the lodge. The Serengeti is a natural paradise and home to one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on earth - the annual migration of millions of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle.
The lodge design is simple but stunning. Inspired by a traditional African village, separate rondavel "huts" house the luxury guest rooms that have their own view of the vast Serengeti plains. From the overall impression to the smallest detail, the lodge is rich in local atmosphere created by indigenous handicrafts and art.
A delightful water feature runs through the main public areas, creating a natural source of waterborne plants and provides a home to many indigenous species of reptiles, amphibians and birds.

Day 6 Serengeti | Meals: BLD
The short grass plains of the Serengeti combined with an abundant source of food in large herds of zebra, wildebeest, impala and buffalo, make the Serengeti an ideal place to spot cheetah on the hunt. Cheetahs (unlike lions and leopards) will hunt during the day. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives.

Day 7 Serengeti-Ngorongoro | Meals: BLD
This morning, game drive your way across the plains, stopping for a picnic lunch before continuing to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at your lodge early this afternoon. Later visit a nearby Masai village and learn about the Masai way of life.
As if in a land before time, Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge is built into the rim of a dormant and collapsed volcano (known as a caldera), the plant and ivy-covered native stone blending masterfully with its surroundings. Close by lies the Olduvai Gorge, the "birthplace of man". Today the volcano and surrounding landscape are part of a vast conservation area inhabited by the Masai tribe, as well as an extraordinary variety of big game and birdlife. Most guest rooms have private terraces with views of the crater floor where countless animals make their home. At Ngorongoro Serena Lodge visitors co-exist in perfect harmony with the natural environment and the wildlife that inhabits it.

Day 8 Ngorongoro | Meals: BLD
After breakfast, descend into Ngorongoro Crater for an amazing day of game viewing. The crater is home to a wide variety of both herbivores and carnivores. Zebra, wildebeest, buffalo and eland are abundant. With such a rich food supply, carnivores like lion, hyenas and leopard are also at home in the crater. Watch for the kori bustard (the world's largest flying bird) to see if you can spot its elaborate territorial display during breeding season. You'll enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor and then continue exploring the distinct areas of the crater: forest, open grassland, swamps and lakes.
