10 days from $6,095 - Land Only This Tour Includes:
Welcome to Kenya! Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Day 2 Nairobi-Sweetwaters (BLD) A short flight takes you to Nanyuki at the foot of Mt. Kenya. Your camp lies in the heart of the private 24,000 acre Sweetwaters Game Reserve. After lunch, search for giraffe, zebra, elephant, cheetah and lion on an afternoon game drive. Day 3 Sweetwaters-Masai Mara (BLD) A light aircraft flight takes you to Kenya's most famous reserve, arriving in time for lunch. Birdwatchers will delight in the Masai Mara, as more than 500 species of birds have been recorded. There are over 16 species of eagles and 9 species of sunbird. Day 4 Masai Mara (BLD) Morning and afternoon game drives in the Mara are exciting. Teeming wildlife includes a variety of plains game such as zebra, buffalo, wildebeest, gazelle, as well as predators such as hyena, jackal, lion, leopard and cheetah. Day 5 Masai Mara-Serengeti (BLD) We cross the border from Kenya into Tanzania at Isebania and continue by road to the Serengeti. The short grass plains of the Serengeti are ideal for a cheetah on the hunt - and the plentiful Thomson's and Grant's gazelle provide good targets. Unlike some of the other cats, cheetah will hunt in daylight, so with luck, you might see one on the prowl. Day 6 Serengeti (BLD) Morning and afternoon game drives give you time to experience the expansive open plains of the Serengeti. Thousands of wildebeest, zebra and other plains game seem like dots across the horizon. Day 7 Serengeti-Ngorongoro (BLD) This morning, game drive your way across the plains, stopping for a picnic lunch before continuing to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at your lodge early this afternoon. Later visit a nearby Masai village and learn about the Masai way of life. Day 8 Ngorongoro (BLD) This morning you will descend about 2,000 feet to the crater floor for a full day of game viewing. The Crater's variety of eco-systems provides abundant food and water for its residents and it is estimated that 25,000 animals live in the crater. There are several animals noted for their absence - one of them is the giraffe, because there is insufficient food supply to sustain them. Day 9 Ngorongoro-Lake Manyara (BLD) Drive to Lake Manyara, depicted in Hemingway's novel, "The Green Hills of Africa". After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive in this delightful park. The acacia woods provide a great playground for the banded mongoose, who can often be found following paths through the forests in search of insects. Day 10 Lake Manyara-Arusha-Depart (BLD) Return to Arusha today for lunch. A day room is available for your use until your transfer to the airport later this evening.

Everyone was very friendly and kind, and seeing all those animals up close and personal was truly an amazing experience. All the hotels and the food served by them was also very good. Our tour guide and driver was the best. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone. Maria A, Fall River, MA | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
