Royal Livingstone

The Falls Resort incorporates the three-star Zambezi Sun, and The Royal Livingstone, a sophisticated five-star hotel. The Zambezi Sun reflects the richness and diversity of the land's heritage and is located on the edge of the Eastern Cataract of the Victoria Falls.

For the more discerning traveller in search of luxury, extravagance and sheer indulgence, the Royal Livingstone Hotel will set your heart on fire and soothe your soul. Set in the lush riverine belt and touching the banks of the great Zambezi River, this earthy Eden provides a secluded haven.

This magnificent Falls Resort allows you the chance to be at one with the uninhibited majesty of the Victoria Falls, a time to regroup, to find your inner core and to leave enriched and empowered, promising to return.

The resort is situated in the 46-hectare Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Wildlife Park, which fringes the Zambezi River. Victoria Falls is recognised as one of the seven natural wonders of the world, and has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Day 5  Victoria Falls | Meals: B
Your day starts with a tour of spectacular Victoria Falls. While the sheer size (5544 feet across and over 300 feet high) of the Falls is immediately impressive, it is perhaps the sight and sound of more than 150 million gallons of water per minute crashing to the gorge below that is the most unforgettable. Wear a rain slicker today, as the resulting spray forms a "cloud of smoke" that can be seen more than 30 miles away!

Your flight takes you to Nairobi today. Later this evening, fun awaits at the Carnivore Restaurant where you have the opportunity to sample different types of meat like ostrich, crocodile and more!
Nairobi Safari Park

Day 8  Nairobi-Lake Manyara | Meals: BLD
Your drive takes you to Arusha where you stop for lunch before continuing to Lake Manyara National Park, dominated by the lake itself which is about 151 square miles. At the eastern edge of the Rift Valley, Lake Manyara boasts dramatic views along the escarpment.

Lake Manyara Serena Lodge

It is difficult to imagine a more spectacular setting for Lake Manyara Serena Lodge - on the edge of the Mto Wa Mbu escarpment, overlooking the Great Rift Valley and the stunning Manyara soda lake. Tree-climbing lions are but one lure. The extraordinary birdlife has made this place world-renowned among ornithologists, who come to observe the masses of pink flamingos and great birds of prey.

The abundant birdlife inspired the design of Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge - swooping curves are complemented by soft, geometric patterns; stylish murals depict bird migration patterns. The circular shape of the buildings is a tribute to indigenous architectural traditions. Beyond the superb standards of hospitality offered, there is a spirit of tranquility that prevails.

Day 9  Lake Manyara-Serengeti | Meals: BLD
Enjoy a morning game drive in Lake Manyara, famous for its treeclimbing lions. Look for hippos wallowing in the Hippo Pool. Watch the tops of dead trees for the predatory fish eagle searching for its next meal. Your drive continues to Tanzania's most famous park, the Serengeti.

Serengeti Sopa Lodge

Located on the edge of the escarpment overlooking the plains of the south-western Serengeti National Park, home to many thousands of wild and rare animals, Serengeti Sopa Lodge lies within an area of out-standing natural beauty. An oasis of cool relaxation from the equatorial sun.

The lodge allows its guests to experience magnificent sights and enjoy interaction with the land and animals difficult to find elsewhere, whilst at the same time enjoying the highest level of cuisine and hospitality.

Fully en suite guestrooms and suites have been designed, decorated and furnished with only your total comfort in mind.

69 standard rooms, all with 2 queen size beds, carpeted, and tastefully furnished with local fabrics and pictures. One entering the room is a lounge with a mini bar. Day 10  Serengeti | Meals: BLD
Be ready for incredible game viewing today. When you look at different herds of animals you may think they all look alike, but if you study a group carefully, you can begin to discern the subtle differences. For example, lions are distinguished by tell-tale scars on their faces and no two zebra's have the same pattern of stripes. Watch closely and you'll enjoy learning the differences.

Day 11  Serengeti-Ngorongoro | Meals: BLD
This morning, game drive your way across the plains, stopping for a picnic lunch before continuing to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at your lodge early this afternoon. Later visit a nearby Masai village and learn about the Masai way of life.

Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge

Facing the always magnificent sunsets to the west, and located at the highest point on Ngorongoro crater's entire rim, Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge stands well over half a kilometer above the crater floor and offers unparalleled views across this enormous caldera.

Themed around traditionally circular African houses with conical roofs, and decorated with examples of Africa's rich tapestry of artistic traditions by way of rich woodcarvings and sculptures, the lodge harmonizes perfectly with its dramatic surroundings. But the drama does not just stop with the great outdoors: it also flows through the split level interiors of the main building which all offer an unsurpassed generosity of space while somehow managing to combine an almost magically welcoming ambiance of both warmth and coziness.

Rooms

Brightly colored flowers of many species of shrubs border the paved pathways which lead away from both sides of the swimming pool to our guest rooms which are built to the same design.

When you step through your door, you will probably hold your breath while you stare over the two queen size beds, and through the window walling of the lower level, enclosed solarium at the view of the crater beyond.

And the luxury doesn't stop there. Because of its altitude the lodge can be chilly at night so each room has central heating; hot water bottles are placed in every bed during our evening turndown service; and our luxuriously appointed bathrooms have extremely spacious showers under which you can reminisce about the wonders of this awesome, almost magically mystical place called Ngorongoro.

All rooms are equipped with amenities to ensure maximum comfort during your stay with us. Among these are our wake up calls and complimentary coffee and tea, all of which will help to kick start an early morning game drive.

Day 12  Ngorongoro-Tarangire | Meals: BLD
After breakfast, your drive takes you to Mto Wa Mbu Village for an interesting afternoon. You'll have time to interact with local villagers and even visit a school, church or home. Then continue to Tarangire, game viewing enroute to the lodge.

Tarangire Sopa Lodge

Built to blend in with the vastness of its surroundings, Tarangire Sopa Lodge lies hidden among the kopjes, ancient baobab and grasses of the Tarangire National Park - home to the greatest concentration of elephants in Africa. Many can be seen around the lodge, allowing visitors a close encounter.

Built on different levels, the main public area building offers an extremely cool respite from the outdoor heat as soon as you step into the reception.

With a perfumed towel and a chilled welcome drink in hand, you suddenly become aware of the sheer size of the lobby with its glistening marble floors, colourful hand-woven carpets, and an incredibly high roof. From here a short flight of steps takes you up a level and into the lounge and bar with floor to ceiling windows, an outdoor terrace where you can enjoy an evening sundowner and, later perhaps, a game of pool in the area behind the bar.

While our circular guest suites with their high, conical roofs fan out to either side of the public areas, it is worth mentioning a word of caution here. Because the lodge is not fenced in any way, wild animals are at liberty to come and go as they please and transits to your room and back might be - but rarely - delayed by an elephant or two. This is the only reason our guards will insist on taking you to and fro at night.

Once inside the coolness of your room, you will be delighted at its space and airiness, and also the views from its sheltered veranda. With its mini-bar, two double beds and an extremely spacious, well appointed bathroom, you can only wish that you were staying an extra night.
  • 75 spacious rooms, all with a private lounge on entering with a mini bar. Each room has 2 queen size beds with a mosquito net around them.
    • 4 of these rooms are suitable for the physically challenged.
    • 4 interconnecting rooms suitable for families.

Day 13  Tarangire | Meals: BLD
Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in Tarangire National Park. Explore the open plains and riverine parkland, looking for fringe-eared oryx, gerenuk and African Wild Dogs - species not generally found in other parts of Tanzania.
