Day 2 Arrive Nairobi
Touch down in London this morning and connect to the Nairobi-bound flight, arriving later this evening. A Welcome Officer will meet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel. Have a good night's sleep this evening, as your adventure begins tomorrow morning.
Day 3 Nairobi-Arusha | Meals: B
This morning a scheduled light aircraft flight will take you to Arusha, where the remainder of the day is at leisure.
Nestled on the shores of Lake Duluti and renowned for its collection of spectacular bougainvillaea, Arusha Serena Lodge is the perfect place to relax before or after an amazing safari.

Day 4 Arusha-Ngorongoro | Meals: BLD
Our drive takes us to Lake Manyara National Park this morning. Stretched along the Great Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is a stunning park, with almost 70% of the park occupied by Lake Manyara, a freshwater lake. Along with abundant plains game like impalas, buffalo and wildebeests, Lake Manyara is an ornithologists paradise. More than 300 migratory birds visit Lake Manyara, including flamingo, the long-credted Eagle and Grey-headed Kingfisher. Pause game-viewing long enough for a picnic lunch and then continue to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, arriving in time for dinner.
As if in a land before time, Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge is built into the rim of a dormant and collapsed volcano (known as a caldera), the plant and ivy-covered native stone blending masterfully with its surroundings. Close by lies the Olduvai Gorge, the "birthplace of man". Day 5 Ngorongoro | Meals: BLD
Like so many other spectacular sights, it is almost impossible to describe Ngorongoro Crater with words. The area was originally part of the Serengeti Naitonal Park, but was split off and declared a Conservation Area in 1959. The crater itself is a large, unbroken and unflooded volcanic caldera formed some two to three million years ago. Today, it is home to an estimated 25,000 animals, including large herds of zebra, gazelle and wildebeest. You'll also find the Big Five: rhino, leopard, buffalo, elephant and lion in residence. Today we'll spend the day on the crater floor, stopping midday for a picnic lunch.

Our drive takes us to the Western Serengeti today. The Serengeti's eco-system is one of the oldest in the world, dating back more than a million years. Our camp is located in the western corridor of the Serengeti, near the Mbalageti River, a prime attraction for the wildebeests and zebras during their annual migration. After time to settle into the camp, head out on your first afternoon game drive in this spectacular location.

Morning and afternoon game drives today are sure to reveal a wide variety of wildlife. Wherever you find large concentrations of plains game like wildebeest and zebra, predators like lion, cheetah and hyena are not far behind. As you scan the horizon, watch the kopjes (small hills) for cheetah, who love to sit on them, watching for a quick meal.

Day 8 Serengeti National Park | Meals: BLD
As we follow the route of the migration, we move to the central Serengeti and our tented camp located in one of the prime migration corridors. Our morning game drive is paused for a picnic lunch as we drive across the vast plains of the Serengeti. The wildebeest is considered the "star" of the migration, although to many, the wildebeest certainly doesn't look like a star. According to African legend, the wildebeest was created out of spare parts. In fact, the wildebeest is perfectly suited to the long journey undertaken on the migration as they follow the food sources first west onto the Serengeti's vast plains and then eventually north into the Masai Mara.

Scenically located in a glade guarded by 3 million year old granite towers, Mbuzi Mawe (meaning Klipspringer in English) makes maximum use of its unique wilderness location. There are al fresco breakfasts, safari luncheons, lantern-lit bush suppers, campfire roasts, and dance displays by the Ikoma people as well as game drives, ranger-led bush walks, ornithology and sightings of: elephant, lion, cheetah, leopard, buffalo, hyena, wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, warthog, hippo and crocodile.

The focal point of the camp is the central lounge - a place of light and air, with stunning views of the surrounding savannah. Morning and afternoon game drives take us in search of the Serengeti's vast array of wildlife. Watch the skies and trees as well, where you'll find an amazing array of birdlife. Imagine watching a black-crested Snake Eagle swoop down and grab a snake with their long, sharp talons. How can they see that grass snake from hundreds of feet up in the air. Birdlife is an important part of the eco-system, as birds can be predaors, herbivores and scavangers. The Serengeti hosts more than 540 species of birds, both resident and migratory.

We bid the Serengeti farewell this morning as our light aircraft flight returns us to Arusha. From here, we continue on the light aircraft flight back to Nairobi, where the remainder of the evening is at leisure.
Day 11 Nairobi-Depart | Meals: BL
After a leisurely morning, travel to the suburbs of Karen to visit the former home of Karen von Blixen, author of "Out of Africa". We'll also make a stop at the Kazuri Bead factory, dedicated to putting the local community to work. An opportunity to feed the Rothschilds giraffe at the Giraffe Center rounds out the afternoon. Freshen up at our partner's Club Lounge before transferring to the airport. Depart Nairobi on the overnight flight to London.

Land in London early this morning where you connect to your home-ward bound flight, arriving later today. The end of an amazing journey!

The swimming pool is made out of local rocks and is situated on the edge of the hill.
With a 360 degree view of the Serengeti, the pool offers the ideal opportunity to cool off after a hot and dusty game drive. Complimentary lemonade and fruit kebabs are served by the pool side.

Welcome Centre
The Welcome centre is hosting the Reception area and the Board Room which accommodates up to 24 conference delegates. Here we serve High Tea every afternoon which can be enjoyed either indoors or in out in the Tea Garden. Early departures for Balloon Safaris etc. are facilitated in the Welcome Centre with early tea and snacks. Wake up calls as well as room service orders for Chalets are conducted from the Welcome Centre.
Payment
Our guests may settle payment with cash or Visa/Master credit card (surcharge 5%)
Security
We have one armed Ranger from Tanapa stationed at Mbalageti Serengeti and a Security team on duty 24hrs a day. Our friendly Masaai escort the guests to and from their rooms.
Electricity
Our electricity is provided by a generator which switches on at 5.30 am and off at 11.30 pm. Special requests of prolonged electricity service will be granted at an additional cost for the tour company.

Day 8 Serengeti National Park | Meals: BLD
As we follow the route of the migration, we move to the central Serengeti and our tented camp located in one of the prime migration corridors. Our morning game drive is paused for a picnic lunch as we drive across the vast plains of the Serengeti. The wildebeest is considered the "star" of the migration, although to many, the wildebeest certainly doesn't look like a star. According to African legend, the wildebeest was created out of spare parts. In fact, the wildebeest is perfectly suited to the long journey undertaken on the migration as they follow the food sources first west onto the Serengeti's vast plains and then eventually north into the Masai Mara.

Scenically located in a glade guarded by 3 million year old granite towers, Mbuzi Mawe (meaning Klipspringer in English) makes maximum use of its unique wilderness location. There are al fresco breakfasts, safari luncheons, lantern-lit bush suppers, campfire roasts, and dance displays by the Ikoma people as well as game drives, ranger-led bush walks, ornithology and sightings of: elephant, lion, cheetah, leopard, buffalo, hyena, wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, warthog, hippo and crocodile.
Unlike any other camp, Mbuzi Mawe Tented Camp lies at the epicenter of the Serengeti within easy reach of the prime wildlife theatres of Lobo, the Western Corridor of the Grumeti River, the southern grass plains, the Seronera Valley and the kopjes, or inselbergs, of Barafu, Gol, Maasai, Loliondo, Simba and Moru.
The focal point of the camp is the central lounge - a place of light and air, with stunning views of the surrounding savannah. In the rear of the lounge, a cocktail bar is stocked with a wide selection of beers, wines and spirts and its decor blends the gnarled timbers of ancient dhows with champagne suede, claret chenille and amber weaves.
The dining tent has its own shaded terrace for optional outdoor dining while the cuisine blends the traditional camp fare of flame-roasted meats with salads, fresh garden produce, piquant fish dishes and luscious desserts.
16 spacious tents are equipped with 24-hour electricity, constant hot water, ensuite bathroom, dressing area, two double four-poster beds and a verandah with double sun bed.

Day 9 Serengeti National Park | Meals: BLD
Morning and afternoon game drives take us in search of the Serengeti's vast array of wildlife. Watch the skies and trees as well, where you'll find an amazing array of birdlife. Imagine watching a black-crested Snake Eagle swoop down and grab a snake with their long, sharp talons. How can they see that grass snake from hundreds of feet up in the air. Birdlife is an important part of the eco-system, as birds can be predaors, herbivores and scavangers. The Serengeti hosts more than 540 species of birds, both resident and migratory.

Day 10 Serengeti-Nairobi | Meals: BL
We bid the Serengeti farewell this morning as our light aircraft flight returns us to Arusha. From here, we continue on the light aircraft flight back to Nairobi, where the remainder of the evening is at leisure.

Day 11 Nairobi-Depart | Meals: BL
After a leisurely morning, travel to the suburbs of Karen to visit the former home of Karen von Blixen, author of "Out of Africa". We'll also make a stop at the Kazuri Bead factory, dedicated to putting the local community to work. An opportunity to feed the Rothschilds giraffe at the Giraffe Center rounds out the afternoon. Freshen up at our partner's Club Lounge before transferring to the airport. Depart Nairobi on the overnight flight to London.
