Packing
Pack light and pack soft! While on road safaris, one bag per person is permitted. If your program includes any flights by light aircraft, strict baggage allowances will apply. Most light aircraft in East Africa restrict each passenger to a maximum of 15 kgs. (approximately 33 pounds). In Southern Africa, light aircraft transfers between lodges and camps restrict weight to 12 kgs. (approximately 26 pounds) per person. An extra seat can be purchased in advance to allow for excess baggage. Hard sided suitcases are not permitted on light aircraft, as their awkward size and inflexibility make it impossible to fit into luggage areas of small aircraft. Most hotels will store larger bags for you while you are on safari.
