Day 1 Arrive Johannesburg
Welcome to South Africa. On arrival, you will be met and assisted to the transfer to your airport hotel.
Day 2 Johannesburg-Maun-Kwando Private Reserve | Meals: BLD
Take the hotel shuttle back to the airport for your flight to Maun, where you continue on a light aircraft flight to your luxury camp in the Kwando Private Reserve.
This is a low-key luxury hideout with serious safari cred. There are tangled woodlands and winding waterways for afternoon boat cruises on the double-decker boat.
Lagoon was one of the first camps in this pristine, predator-rich wilderness. Tucked along the shady banks of the Kwando River in the remote Kwando-Linyanti region, elephants casually wander by the camp. In your room, there is a private deck, indoor ball-and-claw bathtub, outdoor shower, and enough space to do yoga with a view (or just sprawl dramatically with a G&T) as hippos grunt their approval from the water.
Lagoon Camp is that perfect Botswana paradox: that rare combination of hardcore wildlife, relaxed riverfront charm, and a family-welcoming atmosphere. It's raw and refined, thrilling and peaceful, wild and deeply relaxing. Come for the carnivores, stay for the soul.
The most beautiful camp setting in Botswana. Lagoon comprises 6 luxury tents, set on the banks of a perennial lagoon of the Kwando River, under large shady trees. The small size of the camp and its setting makes the Lagoon experience personal and intimate - the epitome of the Kwando Safaris ethos.
Tents have a spacious bedroom area with deck and view of the lagoon. There are his and hers basin, flush toilet and outside shower with hot and cold running water. The camp has a plunge pool, lounge, bar, gift shop and dinning room with a shady area overlooking both the lagoon and a favoured spot where elephants come to drink.
The vegetation is markedly different to Lebala in the south of the concession. Here the defined river channels give way to flood plains, both seasonal and permanent. The ox bow lakes make many secret lagoons favoured by game for drinking in the dry season. However Lagoon is famous for its wild dogs and excellent lion and buffalo interaction. Lagoon like Lebala has a reputation for predator action - the lions known for their ability to hunt and kill mega fauna like buffalo, hippo and elephant.
The airstrip is 3km from camp for light aircraft transfers, the predominant method of access to the camp. The camp offers game drives both off road and at night, walks (subject to guides discretion), fishing and a double deck boat cruise on the permanent river.

Day 5 Kwando-Okavango Delta | Meals: BLD
This morning, a scenic light aircraft flight takes you into the heard of the Okavando Delta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world's largest inland deltas. You will have time to settle in before having lunch and an afternoon game viewing activity. Perhaps take a mokoro ride this afternoon and glide through the papyrus channels silently as you observe animals from the water.
This classic-style 9 tent safari camp overlooks the permanent Tsum Tsum River. Enjoy an exclusive traversing area focusing on walking, game drives (off-road and night drives), and seasonal mokoro excursions.
Only a few old-hand hunters and their trackers knew the location of these water crossings, and the best alternative was approaching the area from the west or north: both arduous, multi-day journeys!
We only received permission for an airstrip in the 4 Rivers area in 2023 making this the last truly unexplored region of the Okavango Delta to be opened in years. We chose this remote site for its amazing habitat variety and biodiversity with the camp located onthe banks of the Tsum Tsum River, the source of the four crossings from which the camp takes its name..
The 8 Tented Suites and 1 Family Suite all have:
Elevated, private viewing deck with outside seating

Chosen for its amazing habitat variety and biodiversity, 4 Rivers Camp sits on the banks of the Tsum Tsum River, the source of the four crossings from which the camp takes its name.
To the west, the vast floodplains allow for excellent off-roading and tracking of predators. To the east, the Tsum Tsum River forms a mini-delta a combination of wetland marsh and wooded islands that are best explored by mokoro and on foot. The largest of these islands, Maboa Island, is directly in front of the camp, and its forests can be discovered on safari walks which are a speciality at 4 Rivers.
Day 8 Okavango Delta-Central Kalahari | Meals: BLD
Take a light aircraft transfer to the your luxury camp in the heart of the Central Kalahari.
Tau Pan Camp has the distinction of being the first and only safari camp in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve (CKGR) the largest game reserve in Africa. This is the ancestral home of the nomadic Bushmen people who have crisscrossed this land of extremes for thousands of years.
Tau Pan accommodates up to eighteen guests in specially designed thatched units on raised decks. The camp offers truly incredible views from the ridge of an ancient sand dune, an unusual experience in a land as flat as Botswana, and overlooks the famous Tau Pan - recognized for its stark beauty and remoteness.
This, the first safari camp to be built in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, is a model of environmental sensitivity. As with its sister camp, Nxai Pan, Tau Pan has been constructed with the delicate ecologies in mind. Both utilize only solar power for the generation of electricity, heating of water and pumping of water from deep under the Kalahari sands. Waste water is treated in a state-of-the-art sewerage treatment plant and the fully treated water is returned to the sands from whence it came.
Activities offered at Tau Pan are game drives, day trips to the well-known Deception Valley, Sunday, Piper and Passarge Pans, star gazing, bush brunches on Tau Pan, and nature walks with Bushman trackers.
×
Day 9 & 10 Central Kalahari
The camp is an understated oasis perched atop an ancient dune that overlooks the iconic Tau Pan (meaning Lion Pan in Setswana). This permanent waterhole is famous for its Kalahari black-maned lions, whose deep roars ripple through the dry air like rolling thunder.
Here, you'll explore your two full days in the desert are spent on drives and walks with our Bushmen guides and trackers who will help you uncover the Soulful Big. Then there's Deception Valley, made famous by the controversial Cry of the Kalahari book by Delia Owens, the same author as Where The Crawdads Sing.
Nothing is quite as it seems at first glance. Take a minute to look closer at the empty horizon and you'll see oryx marching across the dunes like desert royalty and cheetahs streaking across the grasslands in a blur of gold and dust. See that dry stick over there? Dig it up and you'll find a huge tuber filled with precious life-sustaining moisture.
And when the summer rains arrive, witness the area transform into wildflower meadows teaming with thousands of springbok, wildebeest, and hungry predators.
Day 11 Maun-Depart | Meals: B
