If you have always wanted to visit the Galapagos Islands, but did not want to spend the time on a small ship, this tour is perfect for you. The island's stunningly beautiful Royal Palm Hotel is your base by night. By day, select which island excursion you would like to take, or simply relax poolside and take in a local activity. The Royal Palm private estate is a secluded hideaway in the lush highlands of Santa Cruz Island and everything is designed to blend into the environment. There is a great sense of space at Royal Palm and if you look closely, you might even see a Darwin Short Beak Finch or Egret who also live on the estate. Island excursions go out on small motor-cruisers, making your adventures intimate and fun. We've suggested a day by day itinerary, but it is easy to modify as you like. This is a must-do land based Galapagos island journey!

Please note that the Galapagos National Park authority controls the number of visitors to each destination per day, so the timetable or excursions may change without notice. Excursions are also available to Plazas and Santa Fe. Final excursion schedule will be confirmed upon arrival.

Day 1  Arrive Guayaquil
Upon arrival in Guayaquil today, take the short complimentary transfer from the airport to the nearby Oro Verde Hotel, where you will spend the evening.

Day 2  Guayaquil-Royal Palm Hotel (Santa Cruz) | Meals: BLD
Your flight takes you to Baltra today, where you will be met and assisted to the VIP Lounge at the airport. Relax while your host assists with getting your bags and settles your park entry fees. A short,private transfer by boat takes you from Baltra to Santa Cruz island and then on to the luxury Royal Palm Hotel for the next five nights.

The Royal Palm is located in the lush Miconia Highland Forest adjacent to the Galapagos National Park on Santa Cruz island. Surrounded by the lush grounds of the 150-hectare private estate, the Royal Palm provides an escape from everything - the hustle and bustle is left behind and here you can relax and hear the silence, enjoy the flora and fauna around you and simply enjoy your vacation.

Day 3  Royal Palm Hotel Santa Cruz - Bartolome Island Excursion | Meals: BLD
There is so much to see and do at Royal Palm, it will be tough to decide what to do. The next few days reflect our recommended itinerary, but you can easily modify the activities as you like.

After breakfast today, board one of the hotel's chartered yachts for an excursion to nearby Bartolome Island. This full day tour provides spectacular volcanic landscapes and lots of opportunities for spotting dolphins (and possibly whales) on the two hour journey. The launch stops at Daphne Island, a volcanic tuff cone formation to see the sea lions and sea birds. Bartolome Island is probably most famous for Pinnacle Rock. Climb up a long wooden staircase of about 360 steps to a viewpoint that has commanding views of nearly every island in the archipelago. A must see! After lunch, there is time for snorkeling before returning back to the hotel later this afternoon.

This morning, you might like to relax at the pool, or perhaps pamper yourself with a spa treatment. We recommend a visit to the Lava Tunnel today. The tunnel is over 400 yards long and your guide knows every crevice of the tunnel. A visit to the Giant Tortoise is also a must see. They roam freely throughout the highlands. You'll donn high rubber boots for your walk. It won't take long to encounter one of these imposing creatures. They aren't fazed by your presence and a walk among them is certainly a highlight.

On tap for today is a short boat ride to North Seymour Island for a full day of exploration. This picturesque island offers an opportunity to get up close with many marine birds, including the Dancing Blue Footed Booby and magnificent Frigate bird. North Seymour is a low, flat island covered with bush vegetation and home to the largest colony of magnificent Frigate birds in the Galapagos. If conditions are right, you may also see the Blue Footed Boobies perform their amazing courtship dance! Your launch will anchor in calm water for lunch and time for snorkeling and swimming.
