The amazing vistas of East Africa unfold every day on this classic East African safari. Elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes - and of course the great herds of wildebeest and zebra crossing the plains in search of new grass - are all part of the game viewing experience in store on this 10-day safari. We have combined road and light aircraft flights to maximize your time on the ground, soaking in the incredible wildife of East Africa.

This private safari operates with as few as 2 people traveling together - and makes a perfect family or friends safari. 6 is a perfect number for your private vehicle, but if you have more in your party, no problem. We can always add vehicles.

Along the way, you'll stay in excellent four-star tents and lodges, all set in prime locations for game viewing. For example, Lilima Safari Camp sits near the Kimana Gate on its own site, with stunning views of towering Mount Kilimanjaro. Fig Tree Camp sits on the banks of the Talek River, perfect for game watching all year round, but particularly during the migration. Ngorongoro Oldeani Lodge is perched on a hill in the town of Karatu near Ngorongoro, with panoramic views of the surrounding craters and coffee plantations. And in the Serengeti, your camp choice is based on the time of year you travel, so that you are well positioned for the migration as it makes its way across the Serengeti.

Welcome to Nairobi. You will be transferred to your hotel where the remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 2  NAIROBI-AMBOSELI (BLD)
Meet your private driver-guide this morning and travel by road to Amboseli National Park, perhaps best known for its large herds of elephants and stunning views of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Arrive at your camp in time for lunch before an afternoon game drive.

Kilima Safari Camp

Kilima safari camp is located in the area of Amboseli National Park, next to the Kimana Gate Park entrance. The camp is set out on a 420 acre site with spectacular view of mount Kilimanjaro. The Kimana area of Amboseli is famous for it's large elephant population. Clients can enjoy great game viewing from their tents which face the animal water pools and all public areas and guest rooms are set towards Mount Kilimanjaro.

The camp has several facilities and services to ensure you have a comfortable stay. These include two bars, a main dinning room, an open-air dining area and tree house coffee deck. Also available is a video room, guest lecture facilities, swimming pool and curio shop. Power is supplied by generator from 5.00am to 9.00am, 12.00pm to 3.00pm, and from 6.00pm to 12.00am.

Day 3  AMBOSELI (BLD)
Your early morning game drive could be very exciting as you search for animals beginning their day. Scan the horizon for the lumbering giants of the elephants walking across the plains - perhaps you might snap a shot of them with Mt. Kilimanjaro in the background. After time to relax during the hottest part of the day, wrap up the day with an afternoon game drive. Will you spot one of the Big Cats on the prowl?

Kilima Safari Camp

Kilima safari camp is located in the area of Amboseli National Park, next to the Kimana Gate Park entrance. The camp is set out on a 420 acre site with spectacular view of mount Kilimanjaro. The Kimana area of Amboseli is famous for it's large elephant population. Clients can enjoy great game viewing from their tents which face the animal water pools and all public areas and guest rooms are set towards Mount Kilimanjaro.

The camp has several facilities and services to ensure you have a comfortable stay. These include two bars, a main dinning room, an open-air dining area and tree house coffee deck. Also available is a video room, guest lecture facilities, swimming pool and curio shop. Power is supplied by generator from 5.00am to 9.00am, 12.00pm to 3.00pm, and from 6.00pm to 12.00am.

Day 4  AMBOSELI-NGORONGORO (BLD)
Drive to Namanga today where you change vehicles and continue to Arusha for lunch. Then, travel by road to Karatu, arriving at your lodge late in the afternoon.

Ngorongoro Oldeani Lodge

A 5-star colonial lodge situated on a picturesque hill with spectacular views onto Oldeani Mountain and the Ngorongoro Crater Rim. The lodge is elevated with 360 degree views that extend all the way to Lake Eyasi and Lake Manyara. The property is set on 40 acres of pristine lush gree gardens and local vegetation with over 130 species of birds.

The lodge is accessed over a pond and one's first impression is the grand central hallway with wooden trusses looking out over the fire place, infinity pool and out onto the Mount Oldeani, which is part of the caldera of the word famous Ngorongoro crater, only 12Kms away!

Day 5  NGORONGORO (BLD)
As you descend to the crater floor this morning, soak in the magnificent views of the world's largest caldera. Your descent takes you almost 2,000 feet down to the crater floor, which spans over 102 square miles. Game viewing today should be magnificent, with buffalo, hippo and elephant found in good numbers. The cats are here as well so keep your eyes peeled. It is also probably one of the best places to see the rare black rhino. You'll stop for a picnic lunch somewhere quiet.

Day 6  NGORONGORO-LAKE MANYARA-SERENGETI (BLD)
Your driver-guide will drop you off at the Lake Manyara Airstrip this morning for the scheduled light aircraft flight to the Serengeti. A camp vehicle will be waiting at the airstrip for you. Game drive enroute to camp. Covering an area of more than 5,700 square miles, the plains of the Serengeti stretch out as far as the eye can see. This is Tanzania's most famous park and on your afternoon game drive you will quickly see why. An abudance of game dots the plains - zebra, giraffe, gazelles, buffalo -- right along with the predators, lions, leopards and cheetahs.

Your camp and its location varies, depending on the time of year you travel.
From mid-December to the end of March, you will stay at the Serengeti Explorer Camp, which will be located in the Southern Serengeti. April 1-May 31 and again November 1-December 15, you will stay at the Ole Serai Serengeti Luxury Camp in Central Serengeti. From June 1-October 31, you will stay at the Serengeti Explorer Camp which will be located in the North Eastern Serengeti.

    The new luxury camp, Ole Serai, is ideally located within Central Seronera area of the famous Serengeti National Park in Tanzania around the vicinity of the famous Moru Kopjes and Lake Magadi. Located in Serengeti National Park, the camp is strategically located to be in the best locations for game viewing and following the herds of the Migration. Each of the 10 spacious tents has a private verandah, ensuite facilities, solar powered LED lighting and a personal tent valet to look after you.

    Each day your personal camp chef prepares exciting meals timed to match your game viewing activities. Perhaps you start the day with a thermos of coffee and some fresh baked muffins to enjoy during your early morning game drive. Lunch served in the shade of a tree with wildebeest grazing nearby.

    Meals can be tailored to dietary requirements and preferences with advanced notice. Vegetarian meals, low salt or pork free meals are easily arranged.

    From mid-December to mid-March, the camp is set in the southern central Serengeti National Park in the Ndutu area. In June and July the camp moves to the western Serengeti and by August through October, the camp has moved with the migration into the northern Serengeti.

Day 7  SERENGETI (BLD)
Spend a full day in the Serengeti, with morning and afternoon game drives. Search for the Big Five - can you name them? Lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino. The Serengeti is one of those places that literally takes your breath away as your eyes scan the horizon, with no end in sight. Watch the kopjes, as they are favorite spots for cheetah to scan the plains for prey.

Day 8  SERENGETI-MASAI MARA (BLD)
Enjoy some last minute game-viewing this morning as your camp vehicle takes you to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight to Tarime. A road transfer takes you to the Migori airstrip in Kenya, where you continue by light aircraft flight to the Masai Mara and your tented camp set right beside the Talek River. Enjoy lunch before an afternoon game drive.

Mara Fig Tree Camp

Fig Tree Camp is located on the banks of the Talek River in the world famous Masai Mara Game Reserve. The Camp is situated on the northern border of the game reserve and its central location makes all areas of the park accessible during game drives.

The rooms spaciously line up along the Talek River, overlooking the plains of the game reserve.

Day 9  MASAI MARA (BLD)
The Masai Mara is part of the Serengeti eco-system and Kenya's most famous game park. Each year, more than a million zebra and wildebeest make the long march between these two parks in search of fresh grazing area. Game drives are always exciting in the Masai Mara and today you will have both a morning and afternoon game drive. If you haven't crossed off everything on your game viewing list, you should finish it today. Birders - the Masai Mara hosts more than 400 species of birds so be sure to have your binoculars handy.

Day 10  MASAI MARA-NAIROBI-DEPART (BL)
Bid farewell to the Masai Mara as you fly to Nairobi. Stop for lunch before a short visit to the Karen Blixen Museum, the former home of "Out of Africa" author Karen Blixen. Our next stop is the Giraffe Center where you have the opportunity to feed the giraffe from an elevated platform. You will be dropped off at the Crown Plaza Airport Hotel for dinner before taking the airport shuttle to the terminal for your departure flight.

    The new luxury camp, Ole Serai, is ideally located within Central Seronera area of the famous Serengeti National Park in Tanzania around the vicinity of the famous Moru Kopjes and Lake Magadi. The Camp site is perched between the Rongai Hills & Nyaroboro Hills, a few metres away from the banks of the Mbalageti / Seronera River having an abundant variety of resident wildlife (including all the Big 5) as well as a Hippo Pool located only a few metres away from the camp.

    Serengeti Explorer Camp is all about the location. Located in Serengeti National Park, the camp is strategically located to be in the best locations for game viewing and following the herds of the Migration. Each of the 10 spacious tents has a private verandah, ensuite facilities, solar powered LED lighting and a personal tent valet to look after you.

    Each day your personal camp chef prepares exciting meals timed to match your game viewing activities. Perhaps you start the day with a thermos of coffee and some fresh baked muffins to enjoy during your early morning game drive. Lunch served in the shade of a tree with wildebeest grazing nearby.

    Meals can be tailored to dietary requirements and preferences with advanced notice. Vegetarian meals, low salt or pork free meals are easily arranged.

    From mid-December to mid-March, the camp is set in the southern central Serengeti National Park in the Ndutu area. In June and July the camp moves to the western Serengeti and by August through October, the camp has moved with the migration into the northern Serengeti.

Day 7  SERENGETI (BLD)
Spend a full day in the Serengeti, with morning and afternoon game drives. Search for the Big Five - can you name them? Lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino. The Serengeti is one of those places that literally takes your breath away as your eyes scan the horizon, with no end in sight. Watch the kopjes, as they are favorite spots for cheetah to scan the plains for prey.

Day 8  SERENGETI-MASAI MARA (BLD)
Enjoy some last minute game-viewing this morning as your camp vehicle takes you to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight to Tarime. A road transfer takes you to the Migori airstrip in Kenya, where you continue by light aircraft flight to the Masai Mara and your tented camp set right beside the Talek River. Enjoy lunch before an afternoon game drive.

Fig Tree Camp is located on the banks of the Talek River in the world famous Masai Mara Game Reserve. The Camp is situated on the northern border of the game reserve and its central location makes all areas of the park accessible during game drives.

The rooms spaciously line up along the Talek River, overlooking the plains of the game reserve.

The camp has two bars, a main dinning room, an open-air dining area and tree house coffee deck. Also available is a video room, guest lecture facilities, swimming pool and curio shop. Power is supplied by generator from 5.00am to 9.00am, 12.00pm to 3.00pm, and from 6.00pm to 12.00am.

Day 9  MASAI MARA (BLD)
The Masai Mara is part of the Serengeti eco-system and Kenya's most famous game park. Each year, more than a million zebra and wildebeest make the long march between these two parks in search of fresh grazing area. Game drives are always exciting in the Masai Mara and today you will have both a morning and afternoon game drive. If you haven't crossed off everything on your game viewing list, you should finish it today. Birders - the Masai Mara hosts more than 400 species of birds so be sure to have your binoculars handy.

Day 10  MASAI MARA-NAIROBI-DEPART (BL)
Bid farewell to the Masai Mara as you fly to Nairobi. Stop for lunch before a short visit to the Karen Blixen Museum, the former home of "Out of Africa" author Karen Blixen. Our next stop is the Giraffe Center where you have the opportunity to feed the giraffe from an elevated platform. You will be dropped off at the Crown Plaza Airport Hotel for dinner before taking the airport shuttle to the terminal for your departure flight.
